Pressed on Demonic Inferno-colored vinyl (translucent black with heavy fiery orange splatter), this collector's release is housed in a heavyweight gatefold jacket featuring all-new artwork by Steve Reeves, who previously collaborated closely with Waxwork Records on the acclaimed packaging for 2023's Evil Dead Rise soundtrack.

Composers Double Danger shares, "In Evil Dead Burn, the house isn't just a setting - it's an instrument, a character, and a living nightmare. We treated it like a living organism, one that breathes, groans, and slowly consumes everyone trapped inside. Our goal was to create a score that doesn't accompany the horror, but infects it. Rather than imitate the legacy of Evil Dead, we wanted to push it somewhere unexpected, brutal, and deeply human."

DOUBLE DANGER is a duo of composers and producers based in Paris that emerged in 2023 through the collaboration of Xavier Caux and Douglas Cavanna.

These self-taught musicians joined forces with the aim of transcending conventional and academic approaches to music composition. Their project seeks to push the boundaries, providing the works they support with an artistic experience beyond the usual norms.

To compose the music for DISCLOSURE DAY, Steven Spielberg turned to his friend and longtime collaborator John Williams. The recipient of 54 Oscar nominations and winner of five (Fiddler on the Roof, Jaws, Star Wars, E.T. the Extraterrestrial, Schindler’s List), Williams also scored Spielberg’s Close of the Encounters of the Third Kind, memorable for its iconic five-note tonal phrase used to communicate with the aliens. The Disclosure Day soundtrack marks Spielberg and Williams’ 30th cinematic collaboration. 

“Can you believe this is our 30th movie together?” Spielberg says. “And John just turned 94, and he is as exceptional now as he was at 40. It is just remarkable, the depth and breadth of his career. DISCLOSURE DAY is probably the most restrained score he has ever written for one of our collaborations—at least until it is not. But until those moments, he holds back in a way that is subtle and beautiful and enriches the experience. It is like he is accompanying the film from slightly behind it, pushing it forward. Scoring is usually the last thing we do and I always say it is the reward for finishing a movie—the reward being getting to listen to a new John Williams score."

He has composed the music and served as music director for more than one hundred films, including all nine Star Wars films, the first three Harry Potter films, Superman, JFK, Born on the Fourth of July, Memoirs of a Geisha, Far and Away, The Accidental Tourist, Home Alone and The Book Thief. Waxwork Records, in partnership with Back Lot Music, presents OBSESSION Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Rock Burwell. Obsession follows a hopeless romantic that finds himself getting exactly what he asked for but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister price.

“A big focus while composing Obsession was the idea of exploring the uncanny valley, finding the space where emotions get warped into something disorienting, where you’re no longer sure what’s real" Burwell notes. "Curry and I spent a lot of time together crafting the balance between feelings like warmth and dread, nostalgia and estrangement, even the expansiveness of how love feels versus something like claustrophobia. Part of what made it all so exciting was the willingness to take risks, using hard cuts and loudness in ways that feel almost confrontational. Discomfort was always the goal.

Obsession marks Burwell's debut as a feature film composer. The score: atmospheric, synth-driven, and disorienting, was developed in close collaboration with director Curry Barker, and grew out of a creative partnership that began when the two met through a mutual music project in Los Angeles.

Waxwork Records is proud to release the debut solo-album by Lia Braswell. 'Rising' marks Braswell's emergence as a primary songwriter, unveiling an ethereal dream-folk sound that emphasizes atmospheric melodies and introspection.

If Braswell’s name rings a bell, that’s because it should. Having done time as the touring drummer for A Place To Bury Strangers, TR/ST, Le Butcherettes, Sextile, and many others, Braswell has performed on nearly every continent and played internationally renowned festivals such as Coachella and Cruel World. As such, it should come as no surprise that her impressive resumé shines through in the expertly crafted, ethereal dream pop of Rising. Simultaneously evoking the airy, atmospheric sensibilities of Cocteau Twins, the pop-forward experimentation of Kate Bush, and the hyper-danceable, retro synthwave of contemporary artists like Riki and Nuovo Testamento, Braswell’s self-assured presence as both a songwriter and vocalist results in an effort that bears none of the awkward growing pains one might expect from a new project. Equally arresting is Braswell’s lyrical finesse, with profoundly evocative and delicately personal narratives elevating the already deeply affecting music to heights that border on the sublime.

Moving from the relative anonymity of a drum kit to the revealing illumination of center stage comes with its own unique set of anxiety-inducing challenges, but if Braswell is experiencing any trepidation, it certainly doesn’t show in the quality of her music. Then again, when you’ve already toured with Iggy and the Stooges by age 20, maybe embarking on a solo career seems quaint in comparison. What’s beyond debate is that Braswell has a remarkable knack for songwriting and performance that is self-evident on her stunning debut. Accomplished a career as it already, Rising feels like just one more step forward in an ever-growing body of work that is much greater than the sum of its parts.
