Waxwork Records is thrilled to present CRUISING Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and Score. Available for the first time, the original 1980 soundtrack release has been expanded to include the complete film music. Spanning three LP’s, Waxwork worked closely with director William Friedkin, Sony, and Universal Pictures to locate and unearth the original masters that include the original Jack Nitzsche score sessions, the Germs recording sessions, and all music recorded for the film featuring The Cripples, Barre Phillips, Mutiny, and many more. This is the long awaited and definitive CRUISING soundtrack release requested by fans of the film, punk rock, and the counter culture for decades.
CRUISING is a 1980 erotic crime thriller directed by William Friedkin (The Exorcist, Sorcerer) and starring Al Pacino and Karen Allen. It is loosely based on the novel by the same name about a serial killer targeting gay men associated with the underground leather and S&M scene in New York City. The production and shooting of CRUISING was plagued with protests and petitioning to stop the filming by gay rights activists. The movie was received poorly upon release, however, CRUISING has gone to amass a large cult-following and is now considered to be a wildly underrated and thought provoking film that was years ahead of it’s time. CRUISING and director Friedkinunapologetically explored topics that were largely considered at the time to be taboo, noncommercial, and dangerous.
Director William Friedkin’s renegade approach at documentary style filmmaking took him to the darkest corners of the underground where his research and discovery of crime, lifestyle duality, and the burgeoning gay leather scene sparked the creation of a landmark film that is a topic of intense conversation and examination to this day.
Waxwork’s CRUISING Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and Score features the complete music recorded for the film pressed to 180 gram Blue, Black, and White colored vinyl, a 12”x12” booklet featuring an exclusive essay by director William Friedkin on the intense making of the film and creation of it’s music, album design and layout by Aesthetic Apparatus, triple gatefold jackets with satin coating and spot UV gloss, and all music sourced and re-mastered from the original master tapes.

Waxwork Records is proud to present BlacKkKlansman (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) with score by Academy Award® nominated composer Terence Blanchard. From visionary filmmaker Spike Lee comes the incredible true story of an American hero. It’s the early 1970s, and Ron Stallworth (John David Washington) is the first African-American detective to serve in the Colorado Springs Police Department. Determined to make a name for himself, Stallworth bravely sets out on a dangerous mission: infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan. The young detective soon recruits a more seasoned colleague, Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver), into the undercover investigation of a lifetime. Together, they team up to take down the extremist hate group as the organization aims to sanitize its violent rhetoric to appeal to the mainstream. Produced by the team behind the Academy-Award® winning Get Out, the film has received praise and accolades from critics and fans and is nominated for six Academy Awards including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Original Score. Blanchard also recently won his sixth GRAMMY® for Best Instrumental Composition for the track “Blut Und Boden (Blood and Soil)” from the album.
With Blanchard’s current band, the E-Collective, featured on the score to BlacKkKlansman as well as a 96-piece orchestra, the composer delivers “a soaring, seething, luxuriant score,” comments the New York Times. In Vice Magazine, Blanchard elaborates, “In BlacKkKlansman it all became real to me. You feel the level of intolerance that exists for people who ignore other people’s pain. Musically, I can’t ignore that. I can’t add to that intolerance. Instead I have to help people heal from it."
Waxwork Records is thrilled to present the score as a deluxe vinyl release featuring the complete film music by Blanchard pressed to 180-gram vinyl. The deluxe packaging details include 1970’s inspired design work by Aesthetic Apparatus, a heavyweight printed insert, old style tip-on gatefold jackets and "Blood & Soil" colored vinyl.

Waxwork Records is thrilled to announce their partnership with Orion Pictures with the release of THE PRODIGY Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Music By Joseph Bishara. Directed by Nicholas McCarthy and starring Taylor Shilling (Orange Is The New Black) and Jackson Robert Scott (2017’s IT: The First Chapter), THE PRODIGY is a 2019 American horror-thriller film centered around a child whose disturbing behavior signals that an evil, possibly supernatural force has possessed him.
The haunting soundtrack by Joseph Bishara (Insidious, The Conjuring) is an expert composition of dark orchestral scoring focusing on heavy string arrangements, clarinet, and horns reminiscent of classic 1970’s horror soundtracks. The orchestration is blended with emotive electronic soundscapes. Bishara’s tense strings, coupled with droning electronic rhythms and piano, sets the dark tone and effectively captures impending doom and tragedy.
Waxwork Records worked directly with Orion Pictures and Bishara to create a deluxe vinyl release of the soundtrack featuring UV reactive 180 gram “Blue Iris” colored vinyl, new art by Adam Rabalais, a printed insert, old style tip-on gatefold jackets and high quality LP packaging.
It was Waxwork’s aim to create a vinyl record that could appear “possessed”, and by using UV reactive compounds, the record emits an eerie, glowing splatter effect when exposed to a black light. The unique result is a stunning vinyl record, both sonically and visually. Much like the character Miles in THE PRODIGY, the vinyl soundtrack itself is hiding something sinister in plain sight!

Waxwork Records is thrilled to kick off 2019 with the deluxe vinyl release of THE PROWLER Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Richard Einhorn. Released in 1981, THE PROWLER is one of the earliest films to become part of the American-Slasher genre. It also features special effects by Tom Savini (Friday the 13th, Creepshow, Day Of The Dead) and was directed by Joseph Zito (Friday The 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter). The film’s music by Richard Einhorn (Shock Waves, Don’t Go In The House) introduces the composer’s departure from the primitive, monophonic synth scoring of his earlier work, and implements a blend of orchestral cues and mature electronic soundscapes. Waxwork Records worked with the composer to research and locate the master tapes that were thought to have been destroyed for decades. The tapes were restored, transferred, and the music was mixed, constructed into a cohesive soundtrack listening experience, and mastered specifically for vinyl. This special release is a must for fans of the horror genre.
THE PROWLER was released just one year after the critical success of FRIDAY THE 13TH, and has become one of the classic, underrated American-Slasher horror gems. The film is downright scary and features some of the most shocking death scenes of the entire horror movie genre due in part to the expertise of special effects mastermind, Tom Savini. The story tells of a group of college students holding a graduation dance 35 years after a double homicide occurred in their small town. They are targeted by a masked assailant dressed in World War II G.I. fatigues who begins a murderous spree.
This new, definitive double LP film score release of THE PROWLER features all of the film’s music composed by Richard Einhorn pressed to 180 gram Army Green Swirl with Rose Petal Red Splatter, new artwork by Ghoulish Gary Pullin, exclusive liner notes by director Joseph Zito, and a printed insert featuring Rosemary’s break-up letter.

Here’s what we have in store for 2019 Waxwork Records Subscribers:
Don't Go In The House:
Waxwork Records is excited to present the original score to the controversial 1979 horror film, Don't Go In The House. Composed and performed by Richard Einhorn(Shock Waves, The Prowler), the score to Don't Go In The House is a primitive exercise in aggressive minimalist synth composing. Utilizing early, modded synthesizers, Richard Einhorn effectively creates a disturbing sonic landscape to accompany this film that left audience members leaving the theater in shock during its viewings on the infamous 42nd St. NYC "grindhouse" circuit. Features will include 180 gram double LP colored vinyl, the complete score from the original master tapes, new artwork by Marc Schoenbach of Sadist Art Designs, and more.
Bride Of Re-Animator:
Following up our 2013 label debut release of H.P. Lovecraft's Re-Animator comes Bride Of Re-Animator composed by Richard Band! This masterclass in low budget, insane B-Movie horror is a perfect companion to our release of the original film's 1985 soundtrack. You better believe we're giving this campy flick the deluxe treatment with all new artwork by French artist Jérémy Pailler, double LP 180 gram vinyl, re-mastered audio, quality packaging, and much more.
Starring Jonah Hill, Emma Stone and featuring an incredible synth heavy / orchestral blended score by Dan Romer, Maniac is a cerebral 10 episode Netflix miniseries following two strangers that take part in a mind altering pharmaceutical trial. This new and original series is essential viewing and blurs the lines of science fiction, drama, and black comedy. Features will include 180 gram double LP colored vinyl, design and layout by Aesthetic Apparatus, quality packaging, and more!
Waxwork Records is proud to present the deluxe, re-mastered score to William Friedkin's 1977 thriller, Sorcerer. Composed and performed by Tangerine Dream, the music of Sorcerer marks the German electronic group's very first film score effort. Sorcerer comes after Friedkin's critical success of The French Connection and The Exorcist, and marks the last American film masterpiece before the movie industry's hard-segue into the "Hollywood Blockbuster" model of studio film making beginning with Star Wars, released the same year. Sorcerer's electronic score by Tangerine Dream met much acclaim from both critics and fans, and the group went on to become one of the most in demand and popular film scoring groups of the 1980's. Features include 180 gram colored vinyl, exclusive liner notes by director William Friedkin, deluxe packaging, inserts, and more.
