White Zombie Soul Crusher

Years before releasing Grammy nominated multi-platinum records, headlining arenas, and becoming a household name, White Zombie was the dark curiosity of New York’s underground noise-rock scene. Birthed by art school students roughing it in mid-1980’s Lower East Side, early White Zombie was primitive, menacing, and loud as hell. The abrasive and grotesque creation formed by Rob Straker (Rob Zombie) and Sean Yseult clawed its way from rat infested urban decay and squalor to become a chart topping, stadium packing, heavy metal outfit whose twisted legend lives on today.

Waxwork Records is thrilled to team up with White Zombie bassist, Sean Yseult. Upon researching and gathering material from her personal White Zombie archive for recent projects such as her book I’m In the Band: Backstage Notes From The Chick In White Zombie, and the newly released box set by Numero Group, White Zombie: It Came From N.Y.C., Sean discovered 40 remaining first-pressing vinyl copies of White Zombie’s incredibly rare 1987 debut studio album, SOUL CRUSHER, self-released on the band’s very own Silent Explosion label. The band only pressed 1,000 copies.

Rather than have these precious records sit in a corner and collect dust in her personal archive, Sean and Waxwork came together to release these remaining mint condition sealed copies to White Zombie fans that would like to own a rare and special piece of the band’s early history. Each copy of SOUL CRUSHER comes with an autographed 8”x10” glossy from Sean Yseult.
